Painful Backs can also cause headaches and fatigue. It can be hard to breathe or hard to walk. Sometimes there is pain radiating down the legs, or a loss of feeling. There can be a lessening of the immune system and less nerve flow to the heart via the sympathetic nervous system. These structures are what we count on to live our lives. When they are not functioning properly, we are actually hurting ourselves, by allowing these dysfunctions to harbor in our bodies.

  William M. Lawson, DC, DAAPM, DAAIM, DABCO

Dr. William M. Lawson began practicing in 1993 after receiving his degree from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas. Lawson Chiropractic Clinic soon opened its doors in 1994 followed by Lawson Neck & Spine in 1997 to serve south Austin. In 2000, Dr. Lawson recognized the need to expand his services to offer formal physical therapy care and opened Advanced Physical Therapy to create a multidisciplinary operation.

Since then, Dr. Lawson has been committed to expanding his specialties, which include obtaining Diplomat status in pain management both from the American Academy of Pain Management and American Association of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Lawson is certified by the Physicians Academy in performing manipulation under anesthesia - a certification commonly held by medical doctors. This certification assisted in Dr. Lawson obtaining hospital privileges at Vista Healthcare Center in Pasadena, Texas and St. Jude Ambulatory Surgery Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Lawson is also one of the few Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedists in Austin.

Additionally, Dr. Lawson is also certified in Accupuncture and utilizes accupuncture often in treating pain conditions.
